triggerTime

Returns the time the macro was triggered, as a Unix timestamp in seconds.

Keyboard Maestro: TRIGGERTIME

Details #

triggerTime() takes no arguments and returns a number: the Unix time, in seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC, at which the running macro was triggered. If the runner doesn't supply a trigger time, it returns the current time instead. It is a number of seconds, not formatted text.

Parameters #

Takes 0 arguments. {{ triggerTime() }}

Examples #

triggerTime() > 0
→ true
triggerTime() <= now()
→ true

Gotchas #

  • Calling it with an argument is an error: triggerTime() takes 0 arguments, got 1.

  • The time is when the macro started, so it stays the same for the whole run, unlike now().
