wirelessNetwork

Returns the name of the Wi-Fi network the Mac is connected to.

Keyboard Maestro: WirelessNetwork

Details #

wirelessNetwork() takes no arguments and returns text: the name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network the Mac's Wi-Fi interface is on, such as Home Wi-Fi. When Wi-Fi is off or not connected the answer is empty text.

Parameters #

Takes 0 arguments. {{ wirelessNetwork() }}

Examples #

wirelessNetwork()
→
wirelessNetwork() == "Home Wi-Fi"
→ false

Gotchas #

  • Calling it with an argument is an error: wirelessNetwork() takes 0 arguments, got 1.

  • If the Wi-Fi interface reports no name, the answer is empty text even when the Mac is online by another route such as Ethernet.
