log

Returns the natural logarithm of a number.

Keyboard Maestro: LOG

Details #

log(x) takes exactly one argument and returns the natural (base e) logarithm. For other bases use log10 or log2, or divide: log(x) / log(base).

Parameters #

Takes 1 argument. {{ log(text) }}

Examples #

log(1)
→ 0
round(log(10), 4)
→ 2.3026

Gotchas #

  • Calling it with no argument or two arguments is an error: log() takes 1 argument, got 2.

  • Anything that isn't a number is an error: log() needs a number, got text. Numeric text such as "0.5" is accepted.

  • Zero and negative numbers have no logarithm; the step stops with log() has no result for that number.
