browserField
Returns the value of a form field or element on the current page of a browser.
Keyboard Maestro: ChromeField, SafariField, FrontBrowserField
Details #
browserField(browser, name) takes exactly two arguments and returns text.
browser is "safari", "chrome" or "front". name is the id of an element on the page, or failing that its name attribute. The result is the element's value (for inputs and text areas), otherwise its text content. No such element gives empty text.
Parameters #
Takes 2 arguments.
{{ browserField(text, b) }}
Examples #
browserField("front", "email")→
Gotchas #
Needs Automation permission for the browser, and the browser must let Switchboard run JavaScript in the page. Failures come back as empty text, not errors.
The first element named by id wins; otherwise the first with that name attribute.
