timeIn

Shows a clock time, or a unix time, in another time zone, with today, tomorrow or yesterday.

Details #

timeIn(time, zone) takes two arguments and returns text such as 1:00 AM tomorrow.

  • time is a clock time like 14:00 or 2pm, read in the Mac's time zone today, or a unix time in seconds (the kind time returns).

  • zone is a city or abbreviation (Tokyo, NYC, PST, CET) or a time zone identifier (America/Chicago).

The answer is the time on the clock in that zone, followed by today, tomorrow or yesterday relative to now there.

Parameters #

Takes 2 arguments. {{ timeIn(text, b) }}

Examples #

timeIn("14:00", "Tokyo")
→ 5:00 AM today
timeIn("9am", "America/Los_Angeles")
→ 7:00 AM today

Gotchas #

  • An unknown zone is an error: timeIn() doesn't know the time zone 'Narnia'.

  • A clock time that isn't H:mm, H with am/pm or h:mm am/pm is an error.
