exp

Returns e raised to a power.

Keyboard Maestro: EXP

Details #

exp(x) takes exactly one argument and returns e (2.71828...) raised to the power x. It is the opposite of log.

Parameters #

Takes 1 argument. {{ exp(text) }}

Examples #

exp(0)
→ 1
round(exp(1), 4)
→ 2.7183
round(log(exp(3)), 6)
→ 3

Gotchas #

  • Calling it with no argument or two arguments is an error: exp() takes 1 argument, got 2.

  • Anything that isn't a number is an error: exp() needs a number, got text. Numeric text such as "0.5" is accepted.

  • A very large argument overflows; the step stops with exp() has no result for that number.
