now

The current time as a number of seconds since 1 January 1970.

Details #

Use it anywhere a {{ }} expression is allowed, as {{now}} in a step's text or as now inside a longer expression. It also works as a call, now(). It is a plain number (a Unix timestamp), so you can do arithmetic with it. For readable text, use date or the date function with a format.

A run variable with the same name wins. If a step stores something in a variable called now, {{now}} reads that variable, not the live value. Name your own variables something else.

Parameters #

Write it as {{now}} in any text field. A variable of the same name wins.

Examples #

round(now - 3600)
→ 1799996400
Sample variableValue
now1800000000
now > 0
→ true

Gotchas #

  • Reading now twice in one step can give two slightly different values. Store it in a variable first if you need one moment.
