namedClipboard

Details #

namedClipboard(name) takes exactly one argument and returns text: the text saved in the named clipboard name. An unknown name, or a named clipboard that holds no text, gives empty text.

Gotchas #

• Reads Switchboard's own named clipboards, not anything on the system clipboard.

• Empty text if the clipboard history isn't available; the lookup gives up after 2 seconds.
