cosh

Returns the hyperbolic cosine of a number.

Keyboard Maestro: COSH

Details #

cosh(x) takes exactly one argument and returns its hyperbolic cosine, which is never below 1. The argument is a plain number, not an angle.

Parameters #

Takes 1 argument. {{ cosh(text) }}

Examples #

cosh(0)
→ 1
round(cosh(1), 4)
→ 1.5431

Gotchas #

  • Calling it with no argument or two arguments is an error: cosh() takes 1 argument, got 2.

  • Anything that isn't a number is an error: cosh() needs a number, got text. Numeric text such as "0.5" is accepted.

  • A very large argument overflows; the step stops with cosh() has no result for that number.
