Turn iCloud sync on or off and keep a git history of your Library.

What's here #
iCloud: iCloud status, and Sync through iCloud. The switch works once you're signed in to iCloud in System Settings. Switchboard rechecks when you return to it.
Keep history with git: off by default. Each save to your Library becomes a commit in a hidden .git folder. Nothing is pushed anywhere.
Tricks #
Without git you still have History (⌘Y).
The pane says nothing leaves the Mac until the iPhone app arrives.
Running macros on another Mac needs this on, on both Macs.
