Agents & MCP
Control what AI agents like Claude Code can see and run in Switchboard, and how they ask you first.
Switchboard has an MCP server, so an agent can run the macros you choose.
What's here #
MCP server: Expose new macros to agents sets whether a new macro starts visible to them. Off is the safe default. Approval for agent runs picks Ask on my phone, Ask wherever I am, or Don't ask. Destructive macros always ask.
Direct control: whether an agent may drive apps on screen.
Connect an agent: Copy Command or Copy Config for each client. Some also have Add to Config…, which keeps your other servers and saves a backup first.
Servers this Mac's macros may call, Extension tools agents may use and Imported steps agents may use: what you allow beyond macros.
Approvals: opens the window where waiting requests sit.
Tricks #
Restart the agent after adding Switchboard to its config.
A macro can set its own approval; the menu only covers those that don't.
Extension tools start off for agents until you switch them on.
