Remaps
Keys that turn into other keys, including keys that do one thing on a tap and another on a hold.
A remap turns one key into another before apps see it. A dual-role key sends one key when you tap it and acts as a modifier while you hold it.
What's here #
Key remaps: how many remaps there are, and Show in Library, which opens them in the main window under Remaps in the sidebar.
In the Library #
The Remaps item in the main window's sidebar holds the list. It is next to your macros because a remap is something you make, change and delete one at a time.
One row per remap with a switch to turn it on or off. A row can say it applies only in one app.
For a dual-role key, a stepper sets how short a tap is, from 50 to 1000 ms in steps of 50.
Control-click a row to delete it.
With no remaps, the list is empty. Import them from Karabiner-Elements or BetterTouchTool with File, Import. If the engine is off, start it first.
Tricks #
A tap that is too slow counts as a hold. Raise the tap time if it fires wrong.
Changes can be undone with Edit, Undo.
