How Switchboard puts text into an app, with a choice per app.
Snippets and Type Text steps put text into the app you are in. By default they change the field's selected text, so it is one Undo, and your clipboard is not touched. If an app doesn't allow that, the text is pasted instead.
What's here #
Insert text by: a list of apps with their own method. Every app not listed uses Automatic.
Automatic tries accessibility first and checks the field afterward, so an app that says yes and does nothing is caught.
Paste always uses Command-V and puts your clipboard back.
Keys types the characters.
Add App… adds a row.
Tricks #
Add an app here when text comes out wrong, doubled or in the wrong place.
A row in Activity can add its app for you.
