Snippets
Defaults for new snippets and which apps they may expand in.
A snippet types a longer text when you type a short abbreviation. This area sets the defaults for new ones.
What's here #
Default prefix: what every new abbreviation starts with, for example
;. A prefix keeps ordinary words from ever expanding, so pick one you would never type by accident.Expand: whether a new snippet expands the moment you finish the abbreviation, or only after a space, tab or return. Each snippet can change this.
Use snippets only in these apps: turn it on and add apps. Snippets then expand only there.
Tricks #
Command-Control-N makes a new snippet.
{{cursor}}in the text sets where the caret lands.{{ask:Name}}asks for a value first.Snippets never fire in a password field.
