Browsers

Connect Safari, Chrome and other browsers so macros can use pages.

Browser triggers and steps work through an extension in each browser.

What's here #

  • Browsers: one row per browser found, with its state and a button for the next step. Switchboard works with Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge and Vivaldi.

  • Turned off on: browsers or apps where Switchboard isn't turned on yet, with a Turn On button.

  • Kits: site kits that are on. A kit is on while its group is on.

  • Behavior: Private windows and AppleScript fallback.

  • Chrome and other Chromium browsers: Reveal Extension Folder and Open Extensions Page, for loading the extension yourself.

Tricks #

  • In Chrome, keep Developer mode on, or Chrome switches the unpacked extension off again.

  • With AppleScript fallback on, a browser step still runs when the extension isn't connected. It needs Allow JavaScript from Apple Events in the browser.

  • Private windows are ignored while that switch is off.
