Block it (guardrail)
Ends a guardrail's check and drops the key, click or Quit and shows the reason for two seconds.
Block it, saying reason
Details #
Ends the macro with the answer block. The held key, click or Quit is dropped and the reason shows in a message for two seconds. Keys typed while the check ran still go to the app.
Parameters #
| Parameter | Type | Required | Values | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
reason | text | Yes | Required. The line shown, such as Not on a Friday afternoon. Supports {{ }} values. |
Every step also accepts label, onFailure, timeout and dryRunSafe.
Examples #
No pushing on a Friday after four
When
- Before ↩ reaches Terminal
Do
- If the time is between 16:00 and 23:59 on Fri
- Block it: “Friday after 4: no pushing.”
Gotchas #
Prefer Ask Send anyway? when you may have a good reason to go on. A block can't be overridden except by turning the guardrail off.
Blocking a key blocks its release too, so the app never sees half a key press.
