Repeat every

Runs the macro every so many seconds while Switchboard is running.

Every every seconds

Keyboard Maestro: Time

Details #

Fires every every seconds, counted from when the trigger was loaded (when Switchboard started or the macro was saved). The minimum is 1 second; a smaller value never fires. Runs stay on that beat even if a run is slow, so a macro that takes longer than the interval overlaps the next one unless the macro's run setting says otherwise.

Missed runs. If the Mac slept through several beats, nothing runs when it wakes, unless catchUp is true: then it runs once, late.

{{triggerValue}} is empty.

Secure input does not affect this trigger.

Parameters #

ParameterTypeRequiredValuesWhat it does
everynumberYesSeconds between runs, at least 1.
catchUpyes / noRun once after a missed beat instead of skipping it. Off by default.

Every trigger also takes Limits: a cooldown, the first time each day, every nth time, twice within seconds, a chance, only while you are at the Mac, on one Mac, or in a State. See Limits on any trigger.

Examples #

Every ten minutes
When
  1. Every 10 min
Do
  1. Show “Ten minutes passed”
Open in Switchboard to try it

Gotchas #

  • Very short intervals produce a lot of runs. Prefer 10 seconds or more.

  • Not fired reasons: disabled, groupOff, scope, paused, conditionFalse.
