You choose a right-click menu item

Adds an item to the browser's right-click menu under Switchboard, and runs the macro when you choose it.

You choose title from the right-click menu

Details #

Each macro with this trigger adds one item to the right-click menu under Switchboard. contexts says where it shows: page, link, selection, image, editable.

The run starts with the page's inputs plus context, and linkUrl, selectionText or srcUrl when you clicked one. {{triggerValue}} is the selection, link or image address.

Parameters #

ParameterTypeRequiredValuesWhat it does
titletextYesThe menu item's text. Required.

Every trigger also takes Limits: a cooldown, the first time each day, every nth time, twice within seconds, a chance, only while you are at the Mac, on one Mac, or in a State. See Limits on any trigger.

Examples #

When
  1. You choose “Save link to reading list” from the right-click menu on a page
Do
  1. Run shell script “echo '{{linkUrl}}' >> ~/reading-list.txt”
Open in Switchboard to try it

Gotchas #

  • The menu is rebuilt when your macros change, so a new item shows within a second or two.

  • Safari shows the Switchboard submenu only where it supports extension menus.
