Learn from my picks
The palette puts the row you chose for something you typed first the next time you type it.
Details #
Where: Settings › Palette, Learn from my picks and Forget all learned abbreviations….
Key: paletteLearns. Type: true or false. Default: true (written to settings.json only when off).
When you choose a row for a typed query, the palette remembers the pair. That row is first for that query next time, and for the longer queries it is a prefix of, under a "For ‘sf’" heading, whatever kind of row it is. If you have not chosen anything for the exact query, the longest shorter query you did choose for counts. A row the query no longer matches (a renamed macro) is ignored, and forgotten after 30 days. Press ⌘⌫ on the learned row to forget one pick; Forget all learned abbreviations… clears them all.
The file is palette-picks.json in the support folder: queries and row keys, at most 2,000, never results or arguments. Dry runs and the empty query teach it nothing.
