POST /engine/pause

Pauses every trigger for a number of minutes, or resumes them with 0, and returns the new state.

Details #

While paused, triggers do not start macros. Events that would have started one are recorded as paused in GET /not-fired. Runs you start yourself still work.

curl -s -X POST -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" -d '{"minutes":30}' http://127.0.0.1:48080/engine/pause

The response is the same JSON as GET /state, with engine.paused true and engine.pausedUntil set.

{ "engine": { "paused": true, "pausedUntil": "2026-10-24T09:44:02Z" } }

Resume at once with {"minutes":0}.

Parameters #

curl --unix-socket "$SWITCHBOARD_HOME/engine.sock" -X POST http://localhost/engine/pause

Pause all macros for some minutes; 0 resumes. The Unix socket needs no token; loopback 127.0.0.1:48080 needs Authorization: Bearer <api-token>.

Gotchas #

  • Any other body returns 400 with body must be {"minutes": 0...10080} (0 resumes).

  • The pause is not saved. Restarting the engine clears it.
