cursor
Where the caret ends up after a snippet is typed.
Details #
cursor() marks a spot in a Type Text body. The whole text is typed or pasted, then Switchboard presses ← once for every character that follows the marker, so the caret lands there. In a body it is written as the token {{cursor}}.
Only the first marker counts; later ones are dropped. If you use a body with a cursor in a macro that is not a snippet, put the Type Text step last: anything typed after it moves the caret again.
Parameters #
Write it as {{cursor}} in any text field. A variable of the same name wins.
Gotchas #
ask, cursorandselwork only in the text of a Type Text step. Anywhere else they fail with "only in a snippet body".Switchboard waits until no modifier key is held before it moves the caret, so a held ⌥ does not turn the arrows into word jumps.
