switchboard trace

Prints a run's status and each step with its status, duration and note.

Details #

switchboard trace <runId|last> prints one run. The first line has the run id, status, (dry run) when it was one, the macro id and what fired it. Each step follows with its status, how long it took in milliseconds and its note.

switchboard trace last
r_91c0 failed macro m_4f2a9c fired by hotkey
  ok s1 3 ms
failed s2 120 ms element not found
failed at s2: looked for button "Send" — Open the app and pick the element again

last is the newest run, whichever macro it belongs to.

switchboard trace --surface selectionBar [--since 10m] lists the recent candidate gestures of the selection bar instead, with why the bar did or didn't show.

Parameters #

switchboard trace <runId|last>
switchboard trace --surface selectionBar [--since 10m] why the selection bar did or didn't show

Show a run's trace.

Examples #

switchboard run "Backup notes" --dry-run | xargs switchboard trace

Gotchas #

  • trace last exits with 65 when there are no runs yet.

  • The CLI prints a summary. Step inputs, outputs and variables are in the JSON from GET /runs/{id}.
